Tak guna betul. Those two main actor and actress have the perfect face for their role. But the storyline, character and acting...make me want to strangle the writer and director.
So lets go with the storyline. When I watch a review video of this fim in YT, I thought oh, this look like the typical bad bod good girl film, like A Walk to Remember. But never know this is actually inspired by film (that is based on novel by Erich Segal) 'Love Story'.
My jaw drop. Are you kidding me?
Love Story maybe seem cliché but actually have a deep meaning in every plot and dialogue. But this, i would rather say a straight forward cliché movie about love.
So the story is actually a flashback of a man's love story. The man is Inder and his past lover is Saraswathy or been called Saru. She is a typical traditional Indian girl from a middle class family who live on the upper level of his apartment. At first he never met her as he is seem to be reserved and not mingle with the neighborhood. Plus, Saru is also not the type of girl who be friend with any man.
They met at the day Saru supposed to be propose by a man. But the man and his family dont show up. So Saru and her dad decide to go to work (to not waste their annual leave. Good work attitude). On their way downstairs, they bump into Inder and his girlfriend doing romantic stuff. Inder being shirtless, showing his tattoos is like a metaphor of him as a bad boy. He actually an ex-convict who just released from the jail.
Suddenly, its magic. Okay, I have to admit, I don't really believe in love at the first sight but I just love how this bad bod have his eye on Saru, the ordinary conservative girl. That's how easily he fall in love with Saru.
Saru seem to have difficult time to met a guy to be married to. She had a crush with her boss but as usual, I can predict the boss, Abhimanyu just being nice to her so he can used her. Oh, I forget to mention she working at the library. She even agreed to wear a bear costume in an event for him. At the same day, we can see Inder is going to the library to register as a member (yeah I know, seem absurd. but carry on). They met in the lift with Saru wearing bear costume.Then the lifts stuck and they literally become hot that Inder decide to put off his shirt and trousers.
Pause. Huhh..*sigh
He does not know the person in the bear is a woman (But seriously? Even if it is a man, why would you put off your trousers? And you are not even wearing thick eskimo suit!). As Saru shout and open her mask, he appologies to her. Then he help Saru take off the custome but it seem like 'something' happen to them that Saru decide to run away from him when the lift door open.
Am I going to tell every detail of the movie? Yeah. Because I am in fire. I hate story that poorly writen like that. It seem the writer put this scene and that scene together and puff it become love story.
Inder and Saru seems to have a magnetic attraction with each other, Or is one of them intentionally actually try to get close to the other one?
Inder always borrow books and ask reccomendation from Saru. His first question is "What is the book you recommend for someone who just realease from the jail?". Then Saru give him a book titled 'The Catcher's Rye', which is brilliant because it is a story about how a WW2 veteran soldier adapt in the society. Books after books, Saru seem blur to read that Inder is interest with her, and make him back off. Stupid girl, coward boy.
Saru seems cannot live without him too without she realised. As the tension get higher in Saru's home for her marriage matter, Saru decide to do makeover. She recognize Inder's ex girlfriend (the previous girlfriend that she bumped in their apartment) as a makeover guru. To make appointment with her, she has to wait for months. She go to Inder house in the late night to ask for his help (she said she dont want people to know she talk to Inder).
He refuse to help her and Saru keep begging him. Speaking of the devil his ex-gf came and make a fuss as to see them in suspicious condition. She threw tantrum and throw a beer bottle that make Inder's back bleed. Saru beg him to go to clinic but he refuse and they just go the the pharmacy. When two policeman scout in that area, they are suspicious for Inder's injury and accuse him to involve in a crime (because of his tattoo). Inder get mad but Saru keep begging the police to let him go.
"...if you caught him then he can never say sorry i love you to his girfriend ", said Saru.
The policeman get startled because that how his late wife said to him.
"it is hard to find a couple who always said sorry and i love you".
if you are a fan of erich segal's book Love Story, this is the inverse of his quote that is 'never say sorry in love'.
The policeman bring Inder to hospital and Saru keep tag along although he had ask her to leave him alone. When they come back to apartment, all their action have been watch by a guard that close to Saru's father. As he investigate what actually happen with these two person, he witness Saru being in 'improper' situation in Inder house. Actually she trying to help Inder put on medicine as he suddenly lose conscious. You can expect what will happen next. I dont know why Saru have to be there until morning in that 'improper' situation that make her father goes mad to the level of want to have a death ceremony for Saru.
Saru got kicked out from the house but still go to work. She try hard to find a new house but fail. Then Inder help her renting a house that just nice for her. In a short word Inder help her going through tough time.

And all of these leads to the search of Mr IIT or IIM (university graduate), that is candidate for Saru's future husband. She think at least if she get married her father would at least can give her blessing and not worry about her anymore. But to be honest, Inder is also a law graduate so how come he is not being CHOSEN THE STORY WILL END QUICKLY AND I WONT BE STRESSFUL YOU STUPID GIRL.
Anyway, she end up with her boss Abhimanyu that SUDDENLY attracted to her new look and decide to marry her. I smell something fishy here.
They are seriously going to marry each other in a short time despite of both don't really get their parent's approval. To add to the fuel, Inder is the one who accompany Saru buying marriage stuff, have meal with these two lovebirds and much more that he always end up getting drunkard at the rooftop of his apartment.
Tulah bodoh sangat. Lembab. Dah suka tu cakap jela, ini sibuk fikir tak layak la hapa la. Menyampah betul aku kalau lelaki macam ni. Kalau perempuan boleh faham la juga sebab malu. Pastu nak heartbroken minum arak macam lelaki tak ada masa depan. Geram pula aku.
Like typical Bollywood movie, of course the main hero and heroine would get together. Abhimanyu dont show up at their marriage ceremony, and Saru being heartbroken go to the hotel where she and Abhimanyu had paid for their honeymoon.
Inder tag along with her just in case she doing something stupid.
Yes she did.
She cry in the bathtub with Inder beside her try to calm her...
and they kiss and do the 'devil's tango'. You know what i mean -_-'
After that Inder had misunderstood that Saru go back to Abhimanyu when he see them together at the hotel the next morning. Inder left her.
Things got really annoying starting here.
Inder get drunk everyday and never contact Saru. But one day he find out Saru never get back to Abhimanyu and now she is missing. He search for her and found her at a forest (dont ask me why the hell she is there. I am very irritated to watch it at that moment). They fight a little and Saru try to get away from him when suddenly she collapse. Inder see there is a tag at her neck. A cancer patient.
Lahaulawalla kuataillah billah.
Cant you get more dramatic than this? Why the hell she suddenly get cancer and even have a patient's tag? Even if she knew she is sick, why bother to marry Abhimanyu? Why girl? Why?
Inder bring her to the hospital, then barged at her parent's house who at that moment celebrating Kavati (Saru's sister wedding). He get kick out and dont tell her parents about her sickness.
Eh ke ada beritahu ek? Aku pun lupa.
Inder want Saru to go to her sister wedding but she has to be hospitalized. So he made a wedding set up in an abandon studio and put on a televisyen where Saru can watch Kavati's wedding live (with an IV drip beside her).
Yeah yeah, kiss him. Give him false hope. Aku sepak jugak perempuan ni.
Like even after all he has done to her, she still see him as a kind neighbour that always help her through hardship. Padahal dah menari keliling studio macam apa, itupun tak paham ke perempuan oi.
At this moment Saru find out Inder had write her love note in all the books he borrow from the library.
Then they finally know that they love each other. The police release Inder and congratulate to their marriage. Yeah, they decide to get married at that moment.
They just get marriage in the court office but got intervene because they need a guardian to officiate their marriage.. The scene seem want to relate with the movie Love Story (Oliver hate his father since a long time and now object his marriage with Jennifer). But thank god Saru parent come and bless their marriage.
You think A Walk To Remember is dramatic? Try this.
After they are announce as marriage couple, blood come out from Saru's nose. They she faint and been hospitalized. Her parents finally realize their mistake of pressuring Saru and abandoning her, they have a small talk. And then, it is a goodbye to Inder.
"It's time to say bye bye",Saru
"Never",Inder.
Okay that scene really break my heart. Small response but meaningful. Inder get clingy, crying and Saru die in his arm.
Fast forward to present day. Inder standing infront of a tree where he carved Saru's name (I not sure if her body lies under that tree).
It's like he interacting with Saru.
Apa-apajelah.
Fuhh storyline je dah panjang bebenor. hehe, aku bukan bagi storyline tapi sinopsis penuh. Okay bab lakonan plak....aku rasa they could do better. I mean at one moment, diorang dah dapat tangkap emosi penonton tapi pastu diorang buat skinship lebih lebih plak. I mean you can get a romantic scene without really kiss hug or whatever skinship, right? That's the thing i am annoyed about this film. Too much unnecessary skinship. If the actor and actress could dig the feeling deeper, i think it would be fantastic. I mean, yes, they do skinship but their eyes not really show love.

Apa-apapun lelaki ni berjaya buatkan aku gila bayang sekejap. Sekejap je. You know what is the best part of this film? The main song, i lovveeee it so much.

Semua lagu aku bagi sebab mv utk lagu Sanam Teri Kasam tu agak annoying pada aku.
Kalau korang jenis yang dah lama tak tengok hindustan dan saja-saja nak release stress, boleh la tengok cerita ni. Tp kalau nak cari cerita yang bagus, ada deep thinking macam filem-filem Amir Khan, this is not reccomended.
