evil genius review

This is a story about a woman call Marge Diehl. And there is nothing normal about her.

That's the introduction of the story.

Throughout the documentary, her story caught my attention at most. I dont care if ken Barnes do drug dealer or Bill Rothstein framed Marge because he actually loves her. I just want to know what's wrong with this woman? Did everyone make her character bad just because she is a woman plus have several mental issues?

I don't know her back story very well, or perhaps i only analyse her based on what i see her in the documentary. so she said to have a horrible childhood, in what extent, they don't mention it. she is an only child of a quit wealthy family, so i do believe if people said she is a brat spoil kid. her parents build a playhouse for her so she could have friends to play with.

She used to be a beautiful and stylish woman, who had almost everything a woman could ask. She intelligent, have few degrees and master in a different field (sociology & education), with incredible talent in music (her friend said). So usually this type of person would have a bright future ahead, she can be a scholar, lecturer or run for president. I am exaggerating this because she mentions about her intelligent many times.

But turn out to be nothing. She cannot commit to any duty or responsibility. She has several mental issues and criminal cases with all her boyfriend (all of them die bizarrely). All she does is spending her parent's money on properties but just to abandon the property. Again she claimed that she is a rich woman who dont needs to work, she is at a higher level than everyone in everything. So she declines all the accusation of murder and other crimes from the start until the end.

Bill is right about her being manipulative. At first she dont admit that she murder her boyfriend Jim (that actually related to Pizza Bomber and Heist case). She accuses Bill as a liar who had more issue under his sleeves. When Bill Rothstein die, suddenly she admit she did kill Jim, but never admit to involve with the heist case.

Observing her character, I guess I had to admit that she is brilliant. A person who strategies all her action, her choice of words even though at the most time she only brag about how perfect and kind she is and how evil everyone else is.She (still) thinks the world revolves around her and everyone else is evil. Not like other suspects, she sticks to her fact firmly, and always control the conversation with the authority, media and public. Plus, no physical evidence of her found on the criminal place , she only been prisoned as she plead guilty in Jim's death.

Which is brilliant. Excuse my excitement.
She chooses to plead guilty in her so-called-abuse boyfriend with the reason of protecting herself. Her lawyer did well in getting her a light punishment using her mental illness reasons. She would never plead guilty in the heist or with the death of brian wells even though she is suspected to be the mastermind of the whole cases.

Other brilliant tactics that she had is, she avoids to talk to the media. But only trust one of the media people, Terry. He is the one who come to her and say he is interested to do personal interview with her. At first, she declined, but later they connected through letters. She would tell him her story as an exchange of few things that will benefit her such as a video call to the attorney and him making a great movie about her (she didn't tell this but i expect from the last record voice that at least she wants to be portrayed as an innocent old woman). She cooperates wells with Terry, they seem to have a good friendship despite how the other media portray her as a crazy woman who won't tolerate other people.

She thought she can manipulate Terry into 100 percent believe her story. But human sense is much intelligent. Of course he know the odds and flaw in her story that made him search for more evidence and witness. She cut their relationship with him when she knew there is no point anymore be friend with someone who don't support her.

I guess all evil people have the same traits. They are thicked skin, that's how they can hide their cunning character with many methods of acting. A reasonable person would suspects that how in the world, a woman so narcissistic always put the blame on other people and never say a good thing. All things that come from her mouth is so negative, everyone treats her badly, the God is with her and karma is the one that took revenge for her.

And evil people always thought they are smart enough to get away with everything. Marge and Bill have that same trait. But to be honest there is an easy way to know one's pure intelligent. Intelligent people prefer to speak less and sadly enough I cant found on those two. In Bill case, I wonder how come he had pursued his study in many different fields but never finish it. He even nearly get his pilot license but he quit before he succeeds. If you are intelligent enough, why are you leeching your parent's wealth and live like the parasite? You hate a woman for breaking your heart, but you said you have done many unreasonable things for her, how is that called clever?

I remember one of the wisdom word come from an ustaz.

Bad things begin with the thought of I am much better than you.

Remember how syaitan get rid from the heaven? Because of the thought 'I am better than this soil-made human. Why should I respect him?'.

See. Both Marge and Bill always boost about how they are smarter than other people. But at the end what does that prove? Do they live happily ever after with their family and friends? Do they smile, laugh and have a peaceful life? How they can describe happiness in their life? I bet they cannot answer those question, or maybe not intend to. They live in a delusion that they are smart enough to plan a heist and murder without evidence. But at the end the motive is so laughable, as mention as Marge;

"Why do I have to plan with a retard (Ken Barnes) to rob a bank so that I can pay him money to kill my father (to get his fortune) if I am smart enough to do it alone. Remember, I kill two people before this"

Ask yourself, Marge.

This documentary always triggers about the authority flaws in handling a case. Why would you handcuffed a citizen with bomb around his neck with no one try to negotiate or check his condition or the least is calling the ambulance. Yes, it takes time to call the bomb squad but sadly enough when the man's body explodes, you just let his deceased lying on the road and expose to the public as to say "hey, we caught a terrorist". The fact that they cut his head just because want to examine the lock around his neck is just....pathetic. Then the law authority has the nerve to do PC and said the victim is one of the culprits with the reason "oh we had a really strong witness. he barely hit Brian a day before where all the culprits had a meeting outside Bill's house". Bullshit.

Who's that witness? Iron Man? Captain America?

They dare to say in an interview "Oh it is a very different thing on believing in something and proving in something. We try our best given the technology we had in 2003".

Well, I watch CSI series since I am in primary school (around 2000+) and many interesting cases can be solved using the current technology.

My concern, in this case, is not merely about Brian Well, the public safety. A pizza deliver boy. The one who killed because he delivers pizza. That fate can happen to almost everyone, the usual people we see walk in the street. How the authority can protect these small people when he is to be blamed for what happen to him.
"Ohh Brian, that unlucky fellow. He messes with the bank and that's what he get".

The bank gets back their money and the robber die and everyone move on with their life.Oh the mastermind would act like nothing matter.
"Hey, our plan ruin. What are we going to do?"
"Oh I know how to avoid the police attention from that case. Lets brought up the shit deceased in your freezer. I am going to outsmart them by reporting this before they found out. Of course, I would put the blame on you, woman, because you break my heart"
"Yeah and I will act like a crazy person driving the authority and public into nuts with our drama. Oh, if you guys have nothing to do just go disappear".

These people and the world is sick.
